Annie Lennox




Annie Lennox was born on 25 December 1954.She's a Scottish singer and a songwriter.Annie was born in Aberdeen,Scotland.She studied classical music in Royal Academy in London.She began her career as a member of a British pop band The Tourists and later recorded the duo Eurythmics with former bandmate David A. Stewart.The duo came popular internationally in the 80's with singles such as "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "Here Comes the Rain Again".In the 90's she started her solo career beginning with her debut album Diva which produced the hit singles "Why" and "Walking on Broken Glass".Lennox has two daughters with a record producer Uri Fruchtmann.Their first daughter Lola was born in 1990 and second child Tali in 1993.Through her career she has received countless awards including: the prestigious Ivor Novello Award, eight BRITS, including Lifetime Achievement Award, three Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, a World Music Award, ASCAPs including the Founders Award (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), The Billboard Century Award and an Oscar for her work on Lord Of The Rings.She is a dedicated activist and campaigner.Lennox works with numerous organisations, including Oxfam, Amnesty International, Comic Relief, and Greenpeace.
